Excellent Battery - assuming you have the right Firmware!!
I was on my way out of the country for a 3 week trip, and I had just purchased the LUMIX ZS3, along with a pair of Panasonic batteries from an online company. They neglected to mention that the batteries were completely out of stock, and most likely wouldn't be available until after I left.
I checked my camera, and noticed that it had shipped with the v1.1 firmware - so I was able to order these batteries, and they worked WONDERFULLY. I'd give them a good 4-6 hours of pretty constant picture/video taking before they started to falter - much better than the battery that came with the camera.
If you have a spare non-HD memory card, and a little bit of tech skills, and can find the old firmware, it doesn't sound like too big of a deal to 'downgrade' your camera, and use OEM batteries.

No compatibility, firmware downgrade to 1.1 works
This battery is an excellent replacement for the original batteries from Lumix. HOWEVER bare in mind, that choosing this battery you are going to be stuck with firmware 1.1. If you get the latest 1.2 firmware with your camera you will NOT be able to use this battery unless you downgrade. Downgrading process is really easy, however costs you extra few minutes of reading/downloading and a little stress while you're modifying your brand new shiny camera firmware. The disadventage though is, that if Panasonic publishes some fixes/features in say 1.3 firmware - you won't be able to use it unless sacrificing batteries bought already. 2009-11-11

Variable results!
I placed the battery in the brand new panasonic camera DMC ZS3 and it did not work! The camera functioned olny with its own battery. Then I put the battery in exact same model that I bought a few months earlier and worked! It was bad though because I bought the camera and the battery as a gift.
I would not buy the same battery again.

false advertising
Even though my camera (Panasonic Lumix ZS1) was among the models listed that were compatible with this battery, it is not. I trusted the information I found on the Amazon page and it was wrong. 2009-10-26
