Terrible picture quality! Everything has a yellow tint to it
I see on here that there are good reviews and bad reviews for this camera, which I can actually understand.

I didn't notice any problems at first. Sometimes, the camera takes amazing, clear pictures. However, other times, the pictures come out horrible! Outside when it is sunny, or inside when there is lots of light, people's faces come out with an "oily" "painted" look to them- trust me, it ruins the picture. This happens when it is dark as well.

I have taken pictures in bars, pool halls, restaurants, in my kitchen, etc., and each time, the pictures come out "funky"- everything looks yellow being one of the most common problems! It is very frustrating because occasionally pictures do come out fine, but it's really a gamble as to when they will be good or bad. I think that's why some people rate the camera 5 stars is because of that, maybe they don't take as many pictures and haven't noticed any "yellow" pictures yet. But I take a lot of pictures in different places and I have noticed this problem happen over and over!

I will admit the camera is a nice size, looks good and is easy to use- but it's not worth buying because so many of your picutres will eventually come out oily, yellow, blurry, or too dark/light.

Not so hot
So after much time spent looking at reviews and all different kinds of sony cameras, I decided to get the sony w180 camera. I ignored all the posts about the picture quality and design of the camera because so many people said the pictures were fine. I'm not a big picture person, but I compared it with a 4 year old sony camera that was only 7 megapixels and probably not near as many features, and I could tell an obvious difference between the picture quality and lighting. The quality was worse, and the lighting was off, not to mention had a yellow hue. What i ignored when looking at the reviews is the importance of the "Carl Zeiss" lens. The sony lens is far inferior, so just go ahead and pay for the next step up to get the Carl Zeiss lens. I went back and got the w230 and it's great. Hope this helps.

This is a shout out to all the men that want to make their girl happy the first time around...

Dont buy it!!!!!!
This thing take's terrible photos! They are blurry and sometimes make subjects look oily. Indoors the photos come out with a yellow tint or too dark. Outside the photos were more acceptable, but my old sony 4.1 MP does a better job!!! I HATE this thing, I am back to using my old camera and this one is going back to the store!

Horrible
I would never recommend this camera to anyone! It is not worth even $10. I purchased 2 for Christmas gifts. One was defective at the get go and returned for a full refund. The second has been in use for the past 6 weeks. My duaghter went to have the first pictures developed, and the quality is the worst I have ever seen. You would think it was the memory card, but there are pictures from another camera on the same card, and those pictures are fine- I would give it a negative rating if I could. I have owned many cameras in my lifetime, and this is absolutely the worst. I get better pictures on disposable cameras. It is too late to return to Amazon, but I will be contacting Sony to see if they can do anything.

best deal EVER
This has been the single better purchase of my life... this camera for 100 bucks doesn't even make any sense! Go for it if you are the kind of photographer that just point and shoot without fancy or technical stuff (Like me :)
