Bought this item only to have it keep shorting the batteries, making them hot and leak. Happened to me with two sets of batteries. Tried to figure out where the short was when a battery connection tab snapped off. I would not recommend if you want reliable.

I needed a no-frills flash mostly just for emergencies and thought that this Holga manual shoe mount flash would be great as a temporary flash while I have the "Hot-FEET" fixed on my other "good" flashes.

Manual flashes are very limiting when mounted on the hot shoe. You have to pick the perfect film-speed(if using a film camera) and if you fix the aperature
(like I had to do for "3D" photos), and the shutter at 60th of a second to sync with the focal plane cloth shutter you have to carefully stake out the "DISTANCE" to the subject otherwise you'll have exposure issues.

It's extra work and you have to be careful but like I said "you get what you pay for".

In this case it's "exactly" what I expected.

The entire purchasing transaction went perfectly.

I love this flash. It's cheap, well made, and really bright. Definitely get this is you need a cheap! And it makes my Holga look really cool.

I managed to get one photo and a few test flashes out of this product and then the batteries inside burst open and basically destroyed the unit. Not sure if I was supposed to get a special kind of batteries or what, but certainly not worth the money.

The one photo that I did take turned out quite nice though...

This flash, being used with a Holga 120N doesn't do anything more than is advertised. For the price though, it is a great product. It fired on time, every time and works surprisingly well in closer distances.
