The camera bag/battery combo was for our son for his birthday. Our family went together and got him a new camera and we knew he would need a good case for it. Having the extra battery was just a bonus, and he was thrilled when he realized it came with one. Never can have too many batteries. Great case too.

I got my bag & battery free with purchase of my Sony a300, but I know that after a little research, you'd have a hard time finding the battery alone for the cost of both the battery and bag. I personally really like the bag too - it's big enough (so far) for all I need to carry, but not huge. I love the clip on the front that makes it fast to open and close (I only wish the clip were metal and not plastic).
Unless you're just looking for a battery and find one dramatically cheaper, go ahead and get this accessory kit. You won't be disappointed.

I own the A350 and wanted a spare battery. For a few dollars more, I got the case. To me, it is good to have a number of cases. It makes sense when you are say taking pics out of your car (drive up, park) to take everything. When you are hiking, I take less. The Sony bag it in the middle. This is a nice "mid size" bag (I have 3 camera bags.) Fits the camera with a short lens (like the Sony 28mm), plus 2 extras. Room for accessories. For the extra few dollars.... it is a steal and, for me, fits a niche.
