Bought this for my ten year old grand daughter and she took to it like a duck to water. In no time she was using most of the modes and having a blast. For a low priced 8MP camera its pretty nice. It lacks image stabilization, face detection, and the video is 15 frames per second not 30 like more expensive cameras, so the video is slightly jerky. When reviewing the video on the camera, the video lacks sound but you get the sound when you download onto a computer. I was impressed on how well it took photo's in low light using the low light setting, as good as much more expensive cameras. This camera gives you a lot for the price so the 5 stars are based on price versus performance. Remember, its meant to be your first digital camera but definitely not your last. If your looking for a good cheap camera, you've found one, you really can't go wrong with this one.

I bought this camera as a Christmas gift two years in a row for two different people. Both thoroughly enjoy the camera...and for the price, so did I!

We purchased this camera for our small kids who love to take digital pictures but I can't trust with my nicer cameras. For an 8 megapixel camera with a large viewing screen, the price is terrific. It has a small built in memory, which is nice but of questionable use. We've turned down the resolution for our kids as they don't care and it creates more space. If you are using this for real picture taking, you will need to buy a large SD card (like you would need to do with all cameras). The buttons are easy to use which was another requirement we had. Also, I consider the fact that the batteries are AA a plus as it eliminates the need for expensive, proprietary batteries.

If you are a casual picture taker like most of us are, I see no reason to pay more for a camera that isn't going to offer you any real additional benefits. This is a very good camera.

Other reviewers were right. Do not buy this camera. We ordered another Kodak model that had better reviews but were sent this one by mistake(?) It worked fine when my husband opened it on Christmas Day. The next day it was dead. Replacing batteries did nothing. After checking the reviews on this model we decided just to send it back and my husband bought a camera from another company.

Perfect for a beginner like me. Takes great pictures, just point and shoot. Easy to edit. Easy to take everywhere. Love it!
