Great camera
I wanted something small but easy to grab for those quick moments. This camera is great. I'm sure I haven't even begun to figure out all the settings and features but I've gotten great pictures with just basic operation so far. Easy to operate right out of the box. Screen size is nice also. I did a lot of research on small cameras and this one had mostly great reviews. I'm happy I went with it. 2009-07-30

Awesome camera!!!
I got this camera just last Christmas and I am in love with it!!! It is a wonderful camera, not to mention a beautiful color!!! :) It is easy to operate. The pictures come out beautifully. The zoom is just enough to get a good far-away picture. It is small and easy to carry around. It has great features. I could go on and on!!! This probably isn't for a proffesional photographer, but for someone like me who just loves to go around and take pictures, this is a WONDERFUL camera!!!!! I definitely recommend it. 2009-07-28

Great Point-and-Shoot - Unbelievable Battery Life
I bought this camera last November, and I love it! I chose it because Canon has one of the best digital camera reputations. I also chose it because it has a viewfinder, a rarity in today's digital camera world. Almost no digital point-and-shoot cameras have viewfinders, at least those under $200 (I bought this for $160). The screen stopped working completely on my previous camera, rendering it useless. A viewfinder would have allowed me to continue to use it without a hitch. It has very good stabilization and it feels well-made. The battery life in this camera is AMAZING! Granted, I don't use it that often, but I've taken over 200 pictures with it without the battery bar going down at all. I've only charged it 2 or 3 times in the 8 months I've had it. However, the battery bar is not a good indicator towards the end of the charge - once it goes down to one, you need to plug it in right away! The charger is also small and not cumbersome - you just place the battery in the charger and plug it into the wall - there isn't a cord! I have not had a single problem with this camera. Yes, I have had the battery/SD card slot door pop open, but neither the battery or the card have fallen out because the battery has a little lever that holds it in place and the SD card has to be pushed in in order to pop out. I put a screen protector over the screen and so far, it doesn't have any scratches. The outside of the camera looks brand-new. I love this camera and I would recommend it to anyone. I am not a photographer, nor do I have any experience with photos other for making digital photo books, but my pictures I've taken with this camera have satisfied me. If you want a newer camera, I'd look at any camera following in this camera's footsteps. 2009-07-28

Excellent Camera
Excellent Camera, very pleased. I couldn't comment on the specifications etc. from a professional point of view but I should say it has amazing clarity even on zoom and a quick shutter speed which made it easier for me to snap up excellent pictures of fast disappearing objects like fireworks. Hardly went wrong!
The lens error message I read about did come a couple of times, esp when some water was sprinkling around in a water park- I just turned the camera off immediately and checked the camera front to see if the lens were properly closed and prayed. It worked fine when I switched it on a few minutes later, both the times. :)
The camera is slim, fits into the jeans pocket without a problem- there are slimmer cameras out there but I am not sure if they are as sturdy as this one. The blue colour is very pleasant and great price (150$ ish)

Do Not DROP This Camera...
My primary camera is a Nikon DSLR, I got this Canon camera to carry around since it's much smaller. It was wonderful until the one day I received a lens error after dropping it in dry sand. Now it is worthless. After doing some research and trying to fix I can see why they have discontinued this camera. Sounds like lots of people have had this lens error. They are no longer manufacturing this camera and for good reason. Go find something better. 2009-07-23
