My daughter is really enjoying her new Canon Sureshot camera. She received it yesterday and had no problems prepping the camera for use and taking pictures.

I'm having trouble turning this product on and being able to see an image through the window. At the beach earlier this summer, it would not turn on at all even replacing the battery. I'm disappointed in it's performance. When it is working the pictures are great, but still sticks turning on. Maybe I should have returned it and received another one.

The Zoom Browser EX 6.1 software that comes with the camera for viewing pictures did not work. After many tries, it continued to show an error. I called Canon and spoke with what sounded like a very knowledgeable technician, but he was stumped and had no answer for me. I have a two year old Canon Power Shot A610 and even tried to use its software with the A1000 IS camera. It wouldn't work either. I have figured out a workaround, but it's a hassle. Think twice before purchasing!

In this new age of HD digi cams, this one does not promise much. But if you plan to get a good deal on a gift and assured quality, Canon Powershot A1000IS is really a great buy.

I would generally recommend this product for a person who does not want a HD immediately but still wants a good camera with good picture quality and auto focus

Nice wide screen, very clear view and photos. Batteries lasted over 120 photos. Very good videos. Have not figured out yet how to keep the camera from reseting the flash on feature every time I turn it off and on again. Many features I have not played with yet.
