First of all I will talk about the camera, then about the POOR and irresponsible manner in which my order was filled. I had bought another Nikon camera a few months previous. It was a P50. I could not keep my Wife's hands off of it, so I bought here the L19. The functionality of the L19 seem okay. It just does not have the feel or the P50. Secondly, the picture quality of the L19 does not live up to that of the P50. It has disappointed us both. Finally, When I purchased the camera, it was part of a package that contained the camera, a memory card and a costly leather case. The leather case was designed for a much smaller camera. Why would they include that as part of a package? I tried various means to communicatethis problem, but was never answered. I'm still waiting. Rex

I have always been a Nikon fan. This is the latest one i bought for my mother in law. Its compact but easy to use, different scene modes, edit pictures, perfect for first time users . I would have preferred to get a rechargeable battery with the set but its been a really great gift for her.

camera is a great starter camera for digital dummies. works fine, love the auto smile shoot feature.

Takes great pictures. But the slightest little mishap will cause a "lens error" and the repair costs as much or more than the camera. After owning it for 7 mos., it was on a dresser, @ 3 ft off the ground, and fell onto a carpeted bedroom floor. Never worked again. Several people online experienced the same problem. Nikon won't cover it under warranty either. Needless to say, my replacement camera will not be a Nikon

I wanted a camera that was easy to use, lightweight and has the basic features for everyday use.
This was perfect with easily navigable menu, most common shooting modes that one is likely to encounter and the best part was the price. Its definitely one of the best at this price!
I have used it for both indoor and outdoor shooting and the pictures have come out perfect. I don't like to use the flash at all as I do not like to disturb say a group of people in a party by the blinding flash and also I prefer the natural light, and this does a very good job of it.
