Disappointment
Needed a small camera to carry in my pocket on a ski trip. When this arrived, I took some pictures and immediately sent the camera back to Amazon. The images were underexposed and blurry. Ended up with a $130 Canon - I think it is unlikely you can get anything decent below $100. This was my first and last Nikon.

Poor picture quality - Returned camera for refund
Bought this camera as a V-Day present, from local retailer. Upon opening, it looked great and seemed easy to use, but picture quality was TERRIBLE. Pictures are fuzzy, have "halo"-type effects, and "feel" out of focus, even when IN focus. Could see the lack of quality immediately on the (0.3MP?) LCD, and it only looked worse upon viewing on a PC. Assumed it was a defective camera, tried to exchange, but replacement unit was -exactly- the same. Returned for refund.

(My reference points for picture quality are a ~1yr-old ~$100 8MP Canon point-n-shoot, and a $45 7MP Insignia. [generic low-end, also sold as Polaroid and others] Should be very easy to meet/exceed these simple cameras. I was very surprised to see this camera bested by both.)

This camera makes me think twice about buying another Nikon
Brought one for my mother in-law for Xmas, she keep complaining the picture looks like crap, it turns out she was maxing out on the zoom, and there is no way in this camera to turn off digital zoom. Nikon support is no help. Also the low light performance of this camera really sucks, lots of noise. Too bad Panasonic doesn't have any current model that use AA battery and SD cards, otherwise I would have gotten a Panasonic instead.

Shout, Shoot and Carry On.
a point and shoot camera right out of the box. Needed something quick for travel and vacation snapshots. Old camera broke and this was a reasonable replacement. Picture quality is good. Used some shots in close up mode for art painting reference- clear and nice detail. Upon unwrapping, I placed my own long lasting batteries and big SD card into camera. Sturdy strap -so I won't break this one. Since bulk and weight now count for travel, this could be a little thinner-- but I can always find it in my carry-on (taks a small case) Using flash in auto mode is easy and automatic for low light. I am left handed so the buttons always seem to be in the wrong place- but easy to adapt. Now to read the manual-- I'll find out all the things it can do!! I am shouting that the pictures came out with such clarity in bright sunlight!

Great Little Camera
This little camera is awesome!
I would highly recommend this to anyone,
pretty easy functions, it's not rocket science.
