Happy With My Purchase
It's easy to use and the picture quality is very good. So this is one purchase that I'm very happy with. I would prefer that it can with a rechargeable battery but if you keep spare batteries on hand that shouldn't be a problem. 2009-09-29

Cool Coolpix
Easy to operate. Gives great snapshots. Not as good as my Nikon SLR but great for keeping in a pocket for the occasional shot you'd otherwise not get. Only negative is no viewfinder, which is useful on bright days when it's difficult to see the LCD screen. 2009-09-27

Nikon L20 does not fit S series case shown
Amazon packages other items together: camera + SDHC + case
I ordered a Nikon Coolpix L20 to replace my L12 -- damaged screen by not having a case. When I ordered the L20, I also ordered the SDHC + case. The case is for S series. The L20 does not fit this case.
Amazon should correct this.

THE GREATEST COMPACT DIGITAL CAMERA
I have taking pictures with film cameras for a long time with all well known cameras. I did close up of flowers, insects, landscapes, portraits, etc. I hesitate to change to digital due to high prices for my budget and have been reading all reviews and description of the most current models. In the meantime the film prices and developing services were going up. Many manufactures of photo film are not manufacturing film any more.
Then my daughter came to visit us during her vacation and had this little mighty camera NIKON LC20. I asked her to take a picture for one of my vintage camera sat out at the front door. The results were superb. I could not believe the quality in detail, color and clarity.
Amazon had it with a great price and I made my move and acquired one. I can tell you how happy I am with this little giant camera. With 10 Mega pixels and the wide and telephoto lens are great. The software is very friendly and was able to handle the problems that other buyer had, according to some reviews, blurred pictures is controlled when you hold the camera very firm. The quality clue, is to select the amount of pixels for each picture. I am using normal and the quality on all of them are great.
The camera size is small, true, but you have to get use it, to how to handle. I will like to see a camera with a faster lens, perhaps 1:2.0 and more telephoto power, maybe 10X. Pixels are enough. This camera with those feaatures will make any other ones so obsolete. I consider to get another when that one is available.

Really good, but not perfect
I love my little red camera, but there are a few things I would improve.
What I like?
1. Small, compact and takes pretty clear pics.
2. Takes reasonable video clips and you can hear the sounds about as well as any other camera I have had (to say not great, but you can hear).
3. One had zoom, great for when you have your hands full.
4. Huge display.
What I would improve?
1. You cannot zoom out once you start the video recording. You can zoom in more, and then back to where you started, but if you start the video in partial zoom, there is no way to go all the way back out. At least not that I have found.
2. It takes a few seconds to "warm up" when you turn it on. It wants you to select your mode and then the rebound time seems fine for me (mostly taking pics of my kids).
3. HATED the auto select mode, in terms of what type of pic it would take. The thing could not seem to make up its mind, so I selected the standard auto mode and now it works fine. In the camera's defense, I didn't read the manual before trying it out so I might be doing something wrong, but if I can't just point, shoot and have a good pic, I don't care. That is all fixed when you just select a picture mode - the rest of my pictures are great.
