Yikes! I own three Canon digital cameras... this is the only one that gobbles batteries like they are candy. On a recent trip, I went though 4 sets in one day.
Yes, I took a lot of pictures. but with the other Canons I have used, the AA batteries lasted most of the day before I had to change them.
Pictures are great, but this power issue is a big disappointment. This will NOT be taken on any vacations... it will be a stay at home camera only.

The book of instructions that came with the camera really doesn't tell me much, and I have no idea what to do with some of the settings. I still haven't figured out how to set the date and time.

I wanted a camera that I could just drop in my purse and go for those "Oh, I wish I had my camera" moments. This camera was an ideal answer. Picture quality is very, very good, and even though I have not used all the features (and there are many) on the camera, I'm sure that the rest will be up to par. My suggestion would be to take the time to read the manual (provided on disc) to learn all that your camera can do. But if you're like me and want to hurry up and "point and shoot", this camera works like a dream!

I was hoping to find a simple to use point and shoot camera for myself, and this is it. My husband has his SLR camera to keep him happy with a whole list of features. For myself, I just wanted a camera that I can put in my pocket or handbag to take quick on the spot pictures of grandkids. I really don't think I need to use anything but the auto mode. I've only had it for a week, but I love it already after playing with it. I just turn it on and let the camera decide which is best for me to take that picture of my grandaughter playing her violin. The price on Amazon was great. I saw it advertised in a Best Buy store for the same price, but I decided to go with Amazon with free shipping and no sales tax. The shipping was very fast even in our NJ snowy weather. So- if you're looking for a easy to use camera for a youngster or a senior citizen like me, then this Canon AS1100 is for you. Like I said, all I want to do is point and shoot.

I wanted a camera to keep in my purse that I could count on for quick pics. This has been a great product so far. I haven't had any issues with the quality of the images or the ease of use.
