Siempre tuve nikon, primero una L4 y luego una L11, pero ahora me cambiƩ para canon, .. el software es mejor del canon, pero la calidad de fotos es muy inferior la de canon. 2010-03-09

WORKS FOR ME.
I just needed a small digital camera to take quick snapshots that I could then email to friends and family. This camera works fine for my purposes. I am not planning on creating art with my snapshots. I have not had any issues with battery life so far. It is easy to plug into my Mac and transfer the pictures and then prep them for email with one click of a button. I tried using a friends older camera this past week. It was hard to hold steady and get a non-blurry picture. This Canon has image stabilization and I have not had even one blurry picture due to hands moving when I press the button. The pictures look clean and clear and in focus. I did a lot of research and this Canon was highly recommended in this price range. I would recommend this camera to a friend who was looking for a camera for the same purposes as I. My only complaint is that there seem to be a lot of
symbols and functions of the camera that are not fully explained in the paper user manual that came with the product. As I use the camera more and more I will have to check and see if there is any digital manual that came with the camera that explains what all these various symbols, etc. stand for and how to use them properly. But as for just pointing and shooting snap shots, it was easy to get started. This is my first digital camera.
Previously I took slides and negatives with a Canon FTb which I still have, but don't use much anymore. It's quicker and simpler to use the digital camera for snapshots to email to family than shoot, develop, print and snail mail pictures.

cannon a1100
As good as twice the price.. Crystal clear......I took a pic of an old black and white photo taken in 1930 and it came out better than the original. Even makes a 66 year old man (me) look good. I recommend even for professional use. 2010-03-08

cheap construction - battery compartment door broke
Frustrated with this camera, which we've had for 2+ years. It takes great photos, don't get me wrong. The compartment door to the battery & SD card compartment broke. It is made of plastic and a little catch piece on the door broke, so that the door will not firmly close. This causes the the camera to read that the batteries are low and the batteries seem to drain much faster now. We've taped the door shut, and I even hold it shut while I'm taking photos. It's a real pain. B/c of the frequency of removing photo cards from cameras, any mfr. should make this part of the camera metal. For this reason only, I don't recommend the camera. 2010-03-05

Works fine, but...
Yikes! I own three Canon digital cameras... this is the only one that gobbles batteries like they are candy. On a recent trip, I went though 4 sets in one day.
Yes, I took a lot of pictures. but with the other Canons I have used, the AA batteries lasted most of the day before I had to change them.
Pictures are great, but this power issue is a big disappointment. This will NOT be taken on any vacations... it will be a stay at home camera only.
